Your new companyHays Social Care are working with a client in Cookstown to support, help and advise individuals affected by homelessness. The hostel supports both men and women between the ages of 18-65, implementing serious groundwork with some of the most vulnerable people in our society.Your new roleAs a full time support worker you will need to be open to a combination of day and night shifts making sure that all residents feel fully supported and safe. The hostel can support up to 20 individuals at any one time, providing a mix of individual one on one support and group sessions. You will be encouraging individuals to get involved in the opportunities that the hostel has to offer - including training programmes and indoor and outdoor and recreational activities. You will accurately maintain and store records within the service and work in line with the Company's mission and values.What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this position you will need experience in the health and social care sector and a strong work ethic. You will be able to work effectively as part of a team, follow instructions and be able to show initiative in quiet periods. You will be an excellent communicator with resilience to change and be empathetic to other people's situations. You will need to be prepared to hit the ground running.
