Workforce Personnel are a recruitment agency currently recruiting for Support Workers to pick up temporary and adhoc shifts on behalf of our client in the area. Overview of service: The Progression Service provides short term accommodation to adults with learning disabilities to acquire and improve on a range of skills to allow them to live independently. The process should take between 6 and 9 months which we will be increasing to 12 to 18 months. Support will be delivered flexibly, based on assessment of needs and outcome focussed support with the life star model and action plans that are based on people s wishes and aspirations. Support Plans and Star - the format of the support plans has been implemented in order to incorporate more detailed information and pathways. Staff continue to encourage service users to use the Star to assess and devise action plans. our client have now devised an exit questionnaire for the service users in line with SCREW and was only able to obtain feedback from 2 of them, which was positive and they liked living in the house, they felt safe and cared for. They have both moved on to more independent living, one with reduced hours and staffing and the other to where he grew up, enabling him to access the community he knows well. having continued to work consistently with the Progression service in the East. About the Home: - Residential Care Offering accommodation registered for a maximum of 12 Service Users with learning disabilities, in separate bungalows and bedsits. The service users living have a very wide, and complex, range of needs. Learning Disability Physical Disability Sensory Impairment Younger Adults Your duties will include: - Playing a vital role in preserving the comfort and quality of life of each individual under your care Providing an excellent person-centred service Supporting choice and independence in the residents Supporting with washing and dressing, providing nutritional support, personal care and assisting with activities as and when required You will need to be a naturally compassionate person with a strong sense of empathy for those individuals under your care Supporting individuals with Learning Disability, Physical Disability, Sensory Impairment, Autism/ASD , Cerebral Palsy , Epilepsy ,Hearing Impairment & Deafness Required:- This position requires you to complete all mandatory training and an enhanced DBS before being able to undertake any working assignment. A minimum of 6 months experience within a similar care setting in the last 2 years Be flexible to travel - driving licence and own transport is preferable to get to shifts but is not a necessity. Be flexible in your availability - this role is most suited to those who are available most days of the week Experience with providing support and care to adults or children You must have the right to work within the UK MUST be fully COVID vaccinated
