Job Title: Staff Scientist
Location: Redwood City, CA
Purpose Statement:
The Staff Scientist is responsible for developing and characterizing IDT's NGS sample preparation technologies to support customers looking for customizable NGS solutions. The scientist will apply their scientific knowledge at the bench to drive decision-making experiments within cross-functional groups and bring new products to market.
This position is part of the NGS Product Development Team at the NGS R&D site located in Redwood City, California. The Staff Scientist will move R&D strategy to action in multiple projects, following the Danaher Core Behaviors to Deliver Results and Win as a Team.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
Provide leadership to a team of research scientists in the lab through direct and indirect management
Work closely with other functional groups in a global environment
Build the technical foundations of future NGS products in IDT's portfolio
Develop and launch NGS products that help customers further their research
Education:
BS, MS, or PhD in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or Physics with 10+, 8+, or 5+ years of relevant experience, respectively
The essential requirements of the job include:
Independently exploring NGS assay applications and new product development
Providing the broad knowledge base across various Illumina NGS library preparation methods and hybridization capture target enrichment
