A global team are searching for a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer with hands-on experience building, automating, and operating large scale systems. This role will work working on some of the most challenging technical problems within this team's industry and be focussed on building systems, tools and platforms in which the infrastructure and applications are deployed and operated.

The day to day will look like:

  • Collaborate with teams across the business
  • Breaking down large projects into milestones
  • Contribute to architectural design and implimentation of the on prem and AWS infrastructure
  • Make changes to the infrastructure through IaC systems such as Terraform, or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Ensuring systems are highly avaliable for clients

Projects across the last year have included:

  • Shutting down physical data centres
  • Growing the security team and posture for the business
  • Kubernetes clusters are now in production use to support services in many different AWS Regions.
  • CICD systems have matured, currently supporting between 1000/1500 deployments a week
  • Recent acquisitions allow the team to look at support for serverless technologies, and how to integrate those.

Experience and Knowledge required:

  • Strong knowledge of containerisation technology - Docker
  • Strong knowledge of Containerization orchestration - Kubernetes, (EKS/AKS/GKE) or Docker Swarm
  • Continuous integration and delivery platforms - Jenkins, Github Actions
  • Foundation in serverless workloads leveraging - AWS Lambda, API Gateways, DynamoDB
  • Creating and executing configuration management - Ansible/ Puppet
  • Write efficient, maintainable, and understandable Infrastructure as Code
  • Troubleshooting full-stack production systems
  • Knowledge in log management
  • Security and data privacy focus
