Production Engineer for Utilities

The Utilities Unit Manufacturing Expert -Production ( Production Engineer) w ill be responsible for the following:

  • Unit Leader.
      • Ensure achievement of the four core principles of Stewardship, Quality, Reliability, and Engagement in implementing process, product, and equipment changes
      • Provide leadership and indirect supervisory support for the daily operations of the Utilities unit to effectively utilize unit resources and personnel to achieve safe, reliable operations that meet customer needs and unit objectives.
      • Step up for the Daily Execution Leader.
      • Establish and communicate operating parameters for the operations team and engage 24/7 team to identify and remove daily execution barriers.
      • Ensure operation of unit within environmental permit requirements.
      • Conduct field walk-throughs and provide technical and operational guidance to team members, lead problem solving processes.
      • Identify areas of improvement, develop and implement recommendations to capture those improvements.
  • Change Agent .
      • Assist with development and implementation of unit objectives
      • Monitor process, product, and equipment to detect and anticipate emerging issues.
      • Monitor and improve unit performance, equipment availability, and others, as necessary.
  • Business Interface .
      • Routinely interfaces with Daily Execution Leader and Production Units to set priorities and address current issues
      • Implement strategic plans for the unit
  • Conduct Technical Training .
      • Coordinate or conduct training of shift personnel and other site personnel to ensure support and compliance with unit initiatives in the areas of unit operations, safety, process safety, reliability, environmental, and quality.
  • Systems Owner
      • Ensure all technical and procedural systems operate properly.
      • Direct the Management of Change program for the area.
      • Lead or participate in root cause analysis

      • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
      • 3-5 years manufacturing experience; experience supporting Utilities Units preferred
      • Strongly motivated individual who works independently with minimal supervision. Strong computer skills. Demonstrated ability to handle and adjust multiple priorities.
      • Knowledge of manufacturing plant processes
      • Ability to work in a team-based environment and lead a team towards a common goal.
      • Skilled in people development and teaching, effective communication skills with the ability to communicate internally and externally with all levels of the organization.
      • Ability to organize/prioritize thoughts and actions to help achieve unit objectives and long-term vision.
      • Strong technical engineering skills, including knowledge of process design, process safety engineering (PHAs, MOC, SIS and safety systems interlock)
      • Experience with SAP and data historian (PI process book)
      • Root Cause Analysis Training (Cause Mapping, Tap Root, etc.)
