Our Client is proud to be a British company using sustainable, British timber and the majority of the timber used is grown and felled from managed UK forests across Scotland. We are recruiting on their behalf for an experienced Number 1 Play Operator (CNC operator) at a team leader/management level to join their team located Kidderminster. Our client s purpose is to make Britain a nation proud of its gardens. It s important that our client is able to offer high quality traditional products like fence panels and sheds, as well as investing in technology to ensure product consistency. Our Client s traditional products are also designed to be of superior quality our sheds typically have a range of extra security features and higher eaves than the majority on the market. Main duties: • Working with the Team Leader responsibility for the safe operation of the CNC and Play Production Work Centre. • Deputise when required for the Play Team Leader. • Ensure production throughput performance is maximised and delivers in line with the standards set. • Working as part of the Management team Identify process improvement opportunities. Responsibility for overseeing the CNC machine operation • Understanding of Customer Engineering drawings • Using the resources assigned ensure the CNC PPM schedules are completed • Using the resources allocated ensure machine tooling capabilities are maximised • Ensure product is manufactured to the quality standards and in line with agreed Operational Tolerances Ensuring all machinery is operating within SSOW guidelines • Ensure all mandatory Operator PPE is being worn• Ensure all mandatory daily machine inspections are completed and issues identified are coordinated through the correct compliance process. • Working with compliance report any Health and Safety issues using the appropriate communication process and tools. (Mango data base). • Working with the Operations Management Team ensure the Play work centre housekeeping is maintained to the highest 5S standards set. Supporting and ensuring the Operational daily targets are achieved. • Ensure ALL relevant booking control documentation is recorded correctly. • Support the collation of daily Production booking information and when required input onto the Production Booking controlled data base. • Be able to communicate effectively any operating condition changes to the Garden Building/ Play Management Team. • Actively participate in and support of process improvement initiatives • Working as part of the management team identify Operator training and development • Maintain mandatory Training Qualifications relating to the specific job role • Attend as required Training courses identified to enhance job role Desirable previous experience: • As a Number 1 Operative able to use own initiative, make effective decisions and judgments when required • Able to communicate effectively with ALL members of the Team • Able to actively participate in Daily Team briefings • Contribute in the delivery of Operational excellence and performance • Able to actively Identify communicate and assess opportunities for Operational Improvement • Use IT tools relevant to role • To act as a role model in demonstrating the Company values and carry out any other duties as reasonably requested Your operating hours are: October: 50 hours 06:00 to 17:00 5 days a week November: 40 hours 06:00 to 17:00 4 days a week 2023: 40 hours 07:00 to 16:00 5 days a week This position Number 1 Play Operator (Garden Buildings) can offer an immediate start for the successful candidate and is offering a salary between £22,484 and £27,164 depending on performance, and the possibility of bonuses available based on productivity, up to £1.25 per hour. Overtime potential, paid at time and a half, plus an additional £1 per hour training bonus paid for the first four weeks.
