My client is a global multi-disciplinary consultancy business, supporting clients across Aerospace, Defence, Rail, Utilities, Security and Technology, Local and Central Government, Public Services and Blue Light services. They are currently looking for a Geomatics Surveyor to participate in varied survey and mapping activities, on a wide variety of projects. Geomatics Surveyor The Geomatics Surveyor will lead survey teams on site collecting data and will process that information to create finished survey deliverables. You will be encouraged to develop your surveying skills and to work towards attaining professional status. You will: Undertake all aspects of Geomatic surveys from initial client request, through data acquisition and post processing to client delivery. Comply with health and safety requirements, including preparation of relevant safety documentation as directed. Undertake and supervise sitework using total stations, digital levels, GNSS, & laser scanners. Utilise specialist survey equipment such as platform gauge, Abtus Route Scan/Laser Sweep Track measuring device (TMD), Electromagnetic locators (EML), Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) & unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) where required. Process survey data using SCC, Cyclone, Topodot, Infinity and Starnet software. Complete models and drawings using Bentley MicroStation & AutoCAD. Check QA survey products through self-checking and formal survey check processes. Produce a variety of survey reports and other outputs to client requirements. Keep abreast of current survey practise and developments, applying this knowledge to develop innovative survey solutions. Be committed to working towards professional status such as RICS/CICES membership. To be considered for this role, you will be qualified to Degree/HNC/HND or equivalent in a surveying science with some experience as a Surveyor or Assistant Surveyor in the Geomatics field. You will have experience of leading survey teams on site and will be competent in the use of surveying equipment (such as total stations, digital levels, GNSS, & laser scanners) and in processing survey data using industry standard software packages and Bentley MicroStation or AutoCAD. You will hold a CSCS card and a full U.K. driving licence. You will be a professional and conscientious team player, with an excellent attention to detail, a willingness to take the initiative as required and an enthusiasm for innovation and a practical approach to implementing that to survey practise. In addition, the following experience would be an advantage: Highway surveys Railway permanent way surveys Laser scanning, particularly the use of Cyclone Utility surveys including use of GPR equipment UAV(Drones) surveys Holding relevant site safety certification for access to railways would be an advantage, including Network Rail PTS & COSS/SWL1.
