Zurich (New York, NY) seeks an Enterprise Data Specialist to be part of the Data Analytic Solutions team building, developing and supporting a foundation of robust, sustainable, scalable and optimized reusable data assets. These data assets are leveraged by the customized analytical tools such as Dataiku, Databricks and PowerBi, developed to rapidly conduct analysis, produce actionable insights, and answer business questions, enabling stakeholders to execute on portfolio management by understanding profitability and loss ratios at various levels such as customer, segment/industry, exposure state, or similar. Specific duties include: build, develop and support a foundation of robust, sustainable, scalable and optimized reusable data assets; perform deep-dive data analysis and profile complex data sets including but not limited to evaluating policy, claim and customer data by various cuts such as industry or accident type; understand and translate complex business requests to deliver actionable insights within appropriate compliance and governance guidelines; and support business stakeholders by building and delivering fit-for-purpose solutions that provide unique data-driven insights with a sense of urgency. Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering Management, or a closely related field of study, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Senior Analyst - Analytic Engineer, Senior Business Analyst, or similar position. Must have 5 years of experience with each of the following: translating business needs into qualitative and quantitative deliverables; translating business needs into ad hoc analytical tasks or data pulls; working with SQL; developing and operationalizing end-to-end processes working with data analytical tools such as SAS, Tableau, AWS tools and AWS cloud platforms; conducting customer analysis to identify trends, patterns and analyze customer profitability and loss ratios; evaluating line of business mix at an industry and regional level performing data validation; querying data from multiple databases to build robust and reusable data assets; and communicating complex technical concepts to a technical and non-technical audience. Must also have 4 years of experience coding in R and Python for text mining with structured and non-structured data and 3 years of experience with each of the following: working in commercial insurance; and working with data flows in a corporate insurance environment.
